In what is slated to become the UK's largest-ever real estate transaction, Leslie Garfield international partner Beauchamp Estates is set to broker the sale of a 45-room Knightsbridge mansion for 210 million pounds ($274 million). The deal would eclipse Ken Griffin’s $232 million Central Park penthouse to become one of the most expensive residential sales ever.

Beauchamp Estates and Leslie J. Garfield & Co. became exclusive affiliates in their respective markets in 2013, providing clients of both firms access to each other’s deep expertise, market knowledge and experience brokering deals. The affiliation followed a 4-year search for the right international partner, said Matthew Lesser, a Partner and Senior Broker at Leslie Garfield.

“We aren’t a firm that just puts logos on our brochures and listings on our website,” he said. “We constantly refer customers. We constantly communicate about the synergies between our markets. Beauchamp Estates is truly the cream of the crop in the UK, and we’re proud to call them partners.”

Beauchamp sold the record-breaking property at 2-8a Rutland Gate, overlooking Hyde Park, to the private family office of Cheung Chung Kiu, a Chinese real estate developer whose company CC Land Holdings owns one of London’s most expensive skyscrapers. The sale indicates a return of foreign money to the UK market as investors seek deals driven by the weak pound. The Wall Street Journal has suggested that unrest in Hong Kong may also drive increasing interest from the Chinese market.
